Day 1: Entebbe

Carved into the jungle-fringed shores of Africa's largest lake, Entebbe has a sprawling green feel belying its former status as colonial-era capital and present role as the main air gateway to Uganda. Don't expect a cluster of high-rise buildings as you get here, but rather a sprawl of suburban gardens that merge into a golf course and botanical garden bordering Lake Victoria.

You'll feel right at home when you arrive at the Lake Victoria Hotel. Established in 1948, this is the oldest hotel in Entebbe, but regular refurbishments have ensured that the classic colonial architecture is offset by contemporary decor and amenities. Relax with a chilled cocktail in palm-shaded gardens alongside one of the largest swimming pools in Uganda, and enjoy the view across Entebbe’s historic golf course, which runs down to the forested shore of Lake Victoria. Hard to believe, but this relaxed tropical oasis exists only five minutes’ drive from Entebbe International Airport.

Activity Day 1

Afternoon

Day  one of our Double Primates Experience will begin with a warm meet & greet with your driver guide, followed by a smooth transfer from the airport to your accommodation in Entebbe, a charming lakeside city known for its botanical gardens, fresh breeze from Lake Victoria, and relaxed atmosphere.

Day 2: Kibale National Park

Kibale National Park is best known for its population of around 1,000 chimpanzees, man's closest genetic relative. The park is home to a dozen other primate species, including Uganda mangabey, a type of monkey that is unique to Uganda and difficult to see anywhere other than Kibale. It supports a dazzling forest birdlife, with 370 species recorded, ranging from the outrageously colorful great blue turaco to the secretive green-breasted pitta.

There is something about chimpanzees that makes them one of the greatest safari prizes of all.  We'll take you trekking through the forest to spend time with them and enjoy an encounter that you'll never forget.

Guided Walk, Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

A community-run wetland sanctuary, Bigodi is renowned for its high standard of guiding. Forest birds are the main priority of many visitors, but it's also a great showcase for Kibale Forest's monkey diversity, with red colobus, black- and-white colobus and Uganda mangabey among the most common species.

Day  2 will take you to Kibale National Park for an exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure. Later, you will enjoy a guided walk through the beautiful Bigodi

Swamp and there after, you will be taken to your lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Step into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and immerse yourself in a world of sights, sounds, and scents unique to a pristine African jungle. Even without its incredible wildlife, Bwindi is a wonder to explore, but the presence of the endangered mountain gorilla, alongside 10 other primate species and over 350 birds, makes this UNESCO World Heritage Site one of Africa’s most unforgettable destinations.

As you trek through misty trails, lush vegetation, and towering trees, your guide will  lead the way to your assigned gorilla family, where you can witness these gentle giants up close in their natural habitat. Each encounter is unique experience and spending time in the presence of these gentle giants is a real privilege. Enjoy awe inspiring views of infants play, silverbacks commanding their troop, and listen to the haunting calls that echo through the forest. This is one of the most memorable experiences you can ever have while on any safari.
